Montana Tech Applied Health and Safety Sciences

Applied Health and Safety Sciences at Montana Tech prepares graduates for careers in Health and Safety fields.  Over the years graduates from Montana Tech Applied Health and Safety Sciences have found success as public health professionals, corporate wellness directors, personal fitness counselors, and safety and health professionals.

In addition, many students use their Applied Health and Safety Sciences degree to prepare for a career in physical therapy, occupational therapy, exercise physiology, physician’s assistant, cardiac rehabilitation, industrial hygiene and medical school.

The Applied Health and Safety Sciences faculty strive to continue their professional development to best serve their students. Recently, Professor John Amtmann was invited to present "A Practical Approach to Strength and Conditioning for the Combat Sports Athlete" at the Combat Sports International Conference in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in October. Opportunities like this allow faculty to present on the international stage as well as bring new ideas and educational opportunities back to our Applied Health and Safety Sciences students. With this goal in mind they are raising funds to help defray travel costs for conferences and professional development.
