Montana Tech Cross Country/Track and Field 25-26
Montana Tech Cross Country/Track and Field 25-26
Please support Cross Country and Track and Field at Montana Tech!
Please support Cross Country and Track and Field at Montana Tech! Cross Country Track & Field Since its inception, Montana Tech’s cross country and track & field have excelled at doing things fast. Tasked in January 2020 with recruiting a men’s and women’s cross-country team that would be ready to compete by that August, the staff had their work cut out for them. They needed a roster that boasted not just good athletes but those that fit the academic profile of a rigorous and rewarding institution. The success right out of the gate allowed for the announcement of the addition of track & field in January of 2021. Thanks to the support of Montana Tech, the Butte community, and Oredigger Nation, we have established a program that represents Montana Tech well and is constantly raising the bar. In five short years, we had teams and athletes who have qualified for national championships, produced 28 All-Americans, and have brought home six Frontier Conference Championships in track & field and one in cross country. Altogether the program has earned 70 individual conference champions, 4 Frontier Track Athletes of the Year and 5 Frontier Field Athletes of the Year. The performance of our teams has exceeded expectations. To date, we have had 99 national qualifiers. With our success comes the need to raise funds. We are proud to qualify teams and athletes to compete in national meets, but this honor also presents costs not factored into the original operational budget of our program. To continue raising the bar for our program and to continue recruiting the best and brightest athletes in Montana and beyond, we are asking for your support with a gift to the Montana Tech Cross Country and Track & Field Podium Club. Please consider donating to help us provide the best gear, facilities, travel, and scholarships to our student-athletes as we strive to be not only the best in the Frontier Conference but in the NAIA. Gifts made to the Podium Club will allow for greater opportunity to increase the overall student athlete experience and pave the way for greater success as we maintain a championship level program and seek a NAIA National Championship. Please consider making a gift to the Montana Tech Cross Country and Track & Field Podium Club and spread the word! Montana Tech Men's Basketball 25-26
None
Montana Tech Men's Basketball Since the start of this decade, no Frontier Conference program has won more games or conference championships than the Montana Tech Men’s Basketball team. In fact, your Orediggers have the 5th highest winning percentage in the entire country. With your help we have had a sustained run of excellence. But make no mistake, we are far from our ceiling! Our goal remains to take this incredible program to higher heights. YOUR Orediggers have won four straight conference tournament crowns. This is the first time in Frontier Conference history a men’s basketball program has won four straight championships. An incredible accomplishment! This past season marked the first time in history a Frontier Conference team has won four regular season and four tournament titles. The Orediggers completed the regular season on a 4-game win streak finishing 24-6 overall and a 10-5 conference record. YOUR Orediggers have been in the Top 25 for the last 18 polls, the fifth-longest active streak in the NAIA, rising to as high as #5 in the country a season ago. YOUR program needs your help as we compete for our 5th straight conference championship in a much more challenging, expanded conference. We absolutely NEED your help! The recruitment of high-achieving student-athletes is key to our program competing in four consecutive National Tournaments. We need your help to continue to be the top choice for the best basketball players in Montana and in the region. Here are a few examples of the incredible players and coaches we have recruited, developed, and retained at Montana Tech:

Hayden Diekhans (Geraldine, MT) 2024-25 Frontier Conference Player of the Year, and Frontier Conference Defensive Player of the Year

Rhett Reynolds (Shelby, MT) University of Montana transfer, 3x 1st Team all-State

Asher Williams (Bonners Ferry, ID) 3x Idaho 4A POY, 2000-point scorer, 2x State Champion

Brayden Koch (Helena, MT) 2022 Montana Gatorade Player of the Year, State Champion

Adam Hiatt Head Coach of the Year ’24-’25 – Third straight Coach of the Year honor

With YOUR help, we will continue to recruit and support high-character student-athletes who compete at a championship level. Our ability to attract quality non-conference opponents to Butte for early season tournaments has been instrumental in the development of our men’s basketball program. The selection process for the National Tournament is largely contingent on analytics, such as RPI and Strength of Schedule. We need to play a rigorous non-conference schedule to prepare our team for the Frontier Conference season, improve our post-season seeding, and continue to play in the National Tournament. Most importantly, with the conference doubling in size, with many new challenges awaiting, we need your help to put our players in position to be successful on these difficult road trips.

With YOUR help we will be able to compete against enough quality teams in the non-conference to prepare us for Frontier Conference play, and ultimately, help us compete at the national level.

With YOUR help we will be able to travel to North Dakota, South Dakota, and Nebraska to compete against new conference opponents.

Please consider giving today to Montana Tech Men's Basketball and help us make an impact in the 2025-26 season. Help us spread the word! Please help us raise fund to support Montana Tech students in times of crisis.
Please help us raise fund to support Montana Tech students in times of crisis.
Help Montana Tech students in times of crisis.
Montana Tech Montana Technological University is committed to our students. An unexpected emergency causing financial difficulty can happen to anyone at any point in time. Each student’s situation is different and we want them to know that they can move forward, because we have their back. That's what Orediggers do, solve problems and take care of each other. Long-time Montana Tech administrator and faculty member Joe Kasperick saw firsthand that at times students faced emergencies or financial needs that they could not tackle alone. With this in mind and in true Oredigger spirit, Joe created the Kasperick Emergency Fund to provide immediate funds for emergent situations. The Kasperick Emergency Fund provides compassionate assistance to students who encounter unforeseen financial emergencies or catastrophic events that disrupt their progress towards a degree. Montana Tech often receives questions about how to help current students as they navigate hardships while on campus. If you’re searching for ways to help, please consider a gift of any size to the Kasperick Emergency Fund. The Kasperick Emergency Fund supports students experiencing a wide range of unanticipated needs, including medical expenses, food and supplies, emergency travel, childcare and more. Thank you for making a gift today to the Kasperick Emergency Fund and showing a whole new generation of students that Orediggers take care of each other! Montana Tech Food Pantry
Montana Tech Students Helping Montana Tech Students
Montana Tech Students Helping Montana Tech Students It can be unsettling to think that a student sitting in a college classroom is doing so on an empty stomach – not because they chose to skip breakfast or lunch, but because they simply didn’t have enough food to eat. But this is the reality for many college students, and the problem has been getting worse in recent years. As recent as Spring 2020 a poll reflected that 40% of Montana Tech students have some sort of food insecurity. Conceived as an idea by the Associated Students of Montana Tech the purpose of the Montana Tech Food Pantry is to support Montana Tech students facing food insecurity. The food pantry helps relieve the stress of students and of the Butte Food Bank. The Montana Tech Food Pantry is anonymous, and the students are able to take products as they need them. The Montana Tech Food Pantry opened in November of 2020. It is centrally located on campus in the Student Union Building and is easily accessible for students. Orediggers are there for each other and we think that the Montana Tech Food Pantry is an example of this in action. Please consider making a gift to the Montana Tech Food Pantry to help maintain this resource for Montana Tech students. Thank you for your support and please help us spread the word! The Butte Endowed Scholarship
Our goal is to raise scholarship funds to put more of Butte's students on the path to a college degree and a bright future for them and our community.
Our goal is to raise scholarship funds to put more of Butte's students on the path to a college degree and a bright future for them and our community. Montana Tech Montana Tech has a special obligation to the youth of Butte. It's our goal to put more of the city's sons and daughters on the path to a college degree and a bright future. Many of these young men and women will be the the first in their families to attend college. We want to give them the chance to BE THE FIRST! They have what it takes to succeed, mirroring the qualities that make Butte itself such a special place: strong family values, a tireless work ethic, a purposeful, goal-oriented outlook and a knack for getting things done. In 2017 the Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation, in conjunction with Montana Resources, made a $597,000 gift to Montana Tech to create the Montana Resources Opportunity Scholarship for students who graduate from high schools in Butte. This gift has provided more opportunities for Butte students to pursue their education by funding three full-ride scholarships for graduates of high schools in Butte to seek any four-year degree at Montana Tech. When Rolin Erickson retired as President of Montana Resources, and as a testament to his impact and career the Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation renewed their commitment to first-generation students and created the Rolin Erickson Montana Resources Opportunity Scholarship to benefit first generation college students from Butte. We want to continue this momentum with the Butte Endowed Scholarship and help advance Butte students and our community at large. Raising funds for the Butte Endowed Scholarship will allow Montana Tech to expand local recruitment efforts and raise our profile as a first choice university. It will also provide scholarships for students who otherwise may not be able to afford to attend college. Students selected to receive the Butte Endowed Scholarship will be awarded a full scholarship to allow them to focus on their education. Our ultimate goal is to establish a $2.5 million endowment that will positively impact students in Butte for years to come. We are grateful for several leadership gifts that have put us on the path to that goal and want to share the opportunity for you to become involved and invest in the youth of our community. You can be certain that an investment in the Butte Endowed Scholarship is an investment in the city's youth today and for generations to come. Please consider making a gift today to the Butte Endowed Scholarship and help us spread the word by sharing this project on social media, by email and with your friends!
Montana Tech Mining Outreach and Recruitment
Supporting outreach and recruitment for Montana Tech Mining Engineering
Supporting outreach and recruitment for Montana Tech Mining Engineering For nearly 125 years the Montana Tech Mining Department has produced mining engineers with a particular aptitude for practical application of what they learn, our engineers have a particular knack for getting rock in the box. An important part of that preparation is the industry learned and applied knowledge shared by talented faculty to better prepare them for life in industry after graduation. The world needs more Mining Engineers and that is why we created Mining Engineering Outreach and Recruiting Fund. Raising funds for the Mining Engineering Outreach and Recruiting Fund allows the Mining Engineering Department to increase recruiting scholarship dollars, promote our program with increased outreach, and help expand our online presence through social media. We are happy to report that increasing our outreach and available recruiting dollars over the past year is bearing positive results. In 2.5 years, we have nearly doubled the size of our undergraduate program (from a low of 32 in Spring 2022) and currently have over 60 students in the program. Our goal is to continue the recruiting efforts that have been successful and leverage the diverse student body in the program to help with those efforts. We now have students from across the US and Canada plus Peru and Indonesia in our undergraduate program again and are proud to boast that the 2023 incoming cohort was 15% female and the 2024 cohort is 36% female. Please consider making a gift today to Mining Engineering Outreach and Recruiting Fund to invest in the promotion of the department and the recruitment and support of the next generation of Montana Tech Mining Engineers. The addition of the SIM Center has provided opportunities for a significant increase in the number of nursing students at Montana Tech and prepares our nursing students to care for our communities in the future. Floorplan of the Lesar Family Nursing Simulation Center at Montana Technological University Growing the Montana Tech Nursing Departmental Fund allows flexibility as well as funds to purchase unexpected but needed equipment for both students and faculty, and to provide emergency scholarship support for students. It provides an opportunity to invest in continued education for faculty including giving more of our faculty the opportunity to become SIM certified. We care deeply for the success of our students and for the growth of Montana Tech Nursing, a gift to the Montana Tech Nursing Departmental Fund is an investment in that success. The Montana Tech Student Nurses Association promotes health and wellness in our community. Our mission is to mentor students preparing to convey the standards, ethics, and skills to be leaders of nursing. The Montana Tech Student Nurses Association is a club comprised of nursing students who wish to make a difference in the community. We do at least one community service event every semester, which has included clothing drives, bone marrow drives, making lunches for the local homeless population, and more. The Nursing Department at Montana Tech has become a leader in education in the state, recently an independent study ranked the program as the #1 Registered Nursing Program in Montana, and we aim to keep it that way. Please consider investing in Montana Tech Nursing students making a gift today to any or all following areas: the Montana Tech Nursing Departmental Fund and the Student Nurses Association. Thank you for your support and please help us spread the word! Montana Tech Digger Hockey Club
Support Oredigger Hockey!
Support Oredigger Hockey!
Support the Montana Tech Hockey Club!
The previous iteration of the Montana Tech Digger hockey club was formed for the 2011-2012 hockey season, and saw immediate success on and off the ice, showing fierce competition on the ice, and academic success and community engagement off-ice. In 2013, the team soon joined the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division 2, in newly minted Mountain West Collegiate Hockey League. The team was pitted against teams from Utah, including Weber State, Utah State and Brigham Young, local competitors such as Montana State University, and teams from Idaho (Boise State) and Denver. In that inaugural season, Montana Tech finished in 2nd place, behind Weber State. In this same season, 2 players from Montana Tech were chosen to participate in the ACHA National All-Star Challenge – one of those players, Conrad Smith, also represented the ACHA Division 2 Select team, traveling to Europe to play several Pro teams and European University All-Star teams. In the 2013-2014 season, the Montana Tech Diggers were ranked the number 1 hockey team in Montana by The Hockey News, a list that contained many professional teams – a major accomplishment and sign of recognition that the put the team, and Montana Tech on the hockey map in the US club hockey world. In the following 2014-2015 season, the team continued to impress, defeating the number one Mountain West Division ASU Sun Devils in tournament play, which aided in securing a spot at the team’s first ever regional tournament, after finishing 5th in the division. The same year, the Montana Tech Digger Hockey club had 7 players selected to represent the Mountain West division at the National All-Star Challenge in West Chester Pennsylvania – making Montana Tech the highest represented school on the team. Douglas “Dunk” Abbott – The second Montana Tech player in team history to achieve this recognition. In 2017, the Montana Tech Diggers Hockey Club once again represented at the ACHA National All-Star Tournament in Philadelphia, sending 2 players to the tournament. The Montana Tech Diggers Hockey Club remained active on and off the ice, Joining Montana Tech and KXLF to award “One Class at a Time” Grants. The team remained active on campus as well, participating in club-rush events, fundraisers, and homecoming week. Unfortunately, due to injuries and lower player-count in the 2018-2019 season, the team had to cancel their remaining games to finish out the season. Low player turnover in the 2019-2020 season, coupled with the COVID 19 pandemic, the Digger Hockey team went dormant. We are now looking to revive our great academic and athletic Digger Hockey club and are already hitting the ice to get back to form! For the 2023-2024 season, we are unaffiliated with any league – however, with enough support, we hope to rejoin the ACHA in the 2024 – 2025 season. We hope you will consider making a gift to the Montana Tech Hockey Club today. Please help us spread the word! Max Bullock Endowed Memorial Scholarship
The Lieutenant R. Max Bullock Endowed Memorial Scholarship is established in memory or Lt. Max Bullock [call sign Kuato], a naval aviator who lost his life flying his FA-18 Super Hornet in support of peacekeeping. Max was born in Butte, Montana to Montana Tech graduates Bill and Robin (Thornell) Bullock. Max was generous and spent his early life helping his family build the Jeremy Bullock Soccer Fields in Butte, as a tribute to his older brother who was lost in a school shooting. Max was passionate and relentlessly positive. He would dream of ideas that seemed unimaginable to most people and would shock them when he presented a step-by-step solution to achieving them. He joined the Navy- as a pilot- to fly the world’s most advanced aircraft - to become an astronaut- to get to space- to mine asteroids. His belief in himself was only matched by his belief in the goodness and ability of others. In every action and conversation, he conveyed that there are no limits on potential and possibility. This scholarship is intended to not only continue his desire to help others, but for our team of mentors to aid in helping the scholarship awardees the ability to succeed in making a positive impact in our world. We request US active military, veterans and Gold Star family members to apply for this award. Max's family asks for a 200-word paragraph on what you would like to do with your education to improve the campus, Butte and/or the world around you. This award can be received either in the 2nd year at Highlands, or the sophomore and/or junior year at Montana Tech. This scholarship may be awarded twice to the same recipient. Consider making a gift today to the Lieutenant R. Tetra Tech Geological Field Camp Scholarship
The Tetra Tech Geological Field Camp Annual Scholarship allows students to gain the real-world skills essential to careers in geoscience.
The Tetra Tech Geological Field Camp Annual Scholarship allows students to gain the real-world skills essential to careers in geoscience.
Join Tetra Tech and support Montana Tech students as they participate in Geological Field Camp, a hands-on, immersive experience where classroom learning comes to life in the field.
At Montana Tech, learning doesn’t just happen in the classroom, it happens in the field. Each summer, students in our Geological Field Camp step into the landscapes they’ve studied, applying their knowledge in real-world environments. From mapping rock formations to analyzing geologic structures, this immersive experience is a defining moment in their education and a critical step toward careers in geology, mining, and environmental science. Now, with the support of Tetra Tech, we are creating new opportunities for students to access this transformative experience. Field camp is more than a course; it’s a capstone experience. Students spend weeks outdoors developing practical skills that employers value most:

Geologic mapping and data collection

Field-based problem solving

Team collaboration in real conditions

Application of classroom theory to complex environments

Experiences like this prepare students to step confidently into careers tackling real-world challenges—from resource development to environmental stewardship. And that’s exactly where Tetra Tech’s mission aligns. As a global leader in environmental and engineering consulting, Tetra Tech works to protect natural resources, restore ecosystems, and design sustainable infrastructure solutions. The Tetra Tech Geological Field Camp Annual Scholarship helps ensure the next generation is ready to carry that work forward. While field camp is essential, it can also be a financial hurdle. Costs associated with tuition, travel, equipment, and extended time in the field can put this experience out of reach for some students. Your support can change that. The Tetra Tech Geological Field Camp Scholarship will:

Provide direct financial support to students enrolled in field camp

Reduce barriers to participation

Expand access to hands-on, career-defining experiences

Strengthen Montana Tech’s pipeline of highly trained geoscience professionals

When you give, you’re not just supporting a student—you’re investing in the future of:

Sustainable resource development

Environmental protection and restoration

Responsible land and water management

You’re helping students gain the experience needed to solve complex challenges facing communities across Montana and around the world. Help send a student to the field. Your gift, of any size, directly supports students as they take the next step in their education and careers. Make your gift today and be part of their journey from classroom to field to career.
Montana Tech Women's Hockey
Invest in the Future of Women's Hockey at Montana Tech
Invest in the Future of Women's Hockey at Montana Tech
Montana Tech Women's Hockey: Help Us Build History
In March 2026, a new tradition began at Montana Tech. The Montana Tech Orediggers Women's Hockey Team was officially formed, creating an exciting new opportunity for student-athletes to compete, grow, and represent Montana Tech on the ice. As we build our program from the ground up, we invite alumni, friends, families, hockey supporters, and the broader community to help us establish a strong foundation for years to come. Every new program starts with a vision. Today, you have the opportunity to help turn that vision into reality. Building a Program from the Ground Up The Montana Tech Orediggers Women's Hockey Team will compete in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division I and join the Western Women's Collegiate Hockey League (WWCHL), one of the premier women's collegiate club hockey conferences in the western United States. As a new program, our focus is on building a competitive roster, developing team culture, and creating a sustainable foundation for future success. During our inaugural year, we will recruit student-athletes, establish team operations, and compete in exhibition play as we prepare for full league competition beginning in the 2027-28 season. The WWCHL includes teams from:

Arizona State University

Colorado State University

Grand Canyon University

Montana State University

University of Colorado

University of Denver

University of Wyoming

Additional independent programs throughout the region

Why Your Support Matters Unlike NCAA or NAIA programs, ACHA teams operate as student clubs and do not receive athletic scholarships. To keep participation affordable and accessible, the Montana Tech Women's Hockey program relies heavily on sponsorships, donations, and community support. Your gift directly helps offset critical program expenses, including:

Ice rental and facility costs

Team equipment and uniforms

Travel to away competitions

League membership and game expenses

Recruitment and program development

Training and team operations

Every dollar helps reduce costs for student-athletes and strengthens the future of women's hockey at Montana Tech. More Than Hockey Montana Tech Women's Hockey is about more than competition. Our student-athletes are pursuing degrees in engineering, health sciences, business, technology, and other academic disciplines while developing leadership skills, teamwork, discipline, and community engagement. Players are expected to participate in volunteer service opportunities both on and off campus while helping grow the program through fundraising and outreach efforts. Together, they represent the values of Montana Tech and the spirit of the Oredigger community. Join the Team As one of the founding supporters of Montana Tech Women's Hockey, you have the opportunity to help shape the future of this program and create opportunities for generations of student-athletes. Whether your gift is $50, $100, $500, or more, every contribution moves us closer to our goal of building a competitive, sustainable, and successful women's hockey program.
