Coach Green took over the reins of the Orediggers football program in 1987 and coached thousands of Orediggers on a field that now bears his name. Under his leadership, the Diggers flourished. Overall, Coach Green’s teams had 140 wins, 116 losses, and 1 tie. During Green’s time at Montana Tech, the Diggers appeared in the playoffs five times and played for the National Championship in 1996. In his 24 years, his teams were either 1st or 2nd 16 times. He also coached 15 1st team all-Americans—two of which received the honor twice.
But perhaps the most impressive statistic involved Coach Green’s student athletes off the field; the graduation rate for senior players was 95%. That’s an incredible legacy and we want to honor him by making his impact on campus permanent.
Coach Green retired in 2010 after 24 years at the helm of Oredigger Football, and it was at that time he asked his friends, players, and supporters to instead of gifts give towards creating a scholarship to benefit a student (or students) within the football program. It is because of those generous gifts that the Bob and Pam Green Endowed Scholarship began. Now we want to take it to the next level.
Coach Green's goal has always been to support student athletes and strengthen Oredigger football. This is where you can help...for every $25,000 in the fund the Bob and Pam Green Endowment will provide a $1,000 scholarship for one football player each year…forever. Which seems fitting, since because of Coach Green and Pam’s dedication to their players on and off the field, their lives where changed…forever.
Give today and make an impact that will last forever.
