Montana Tech Women's Basketball has a long tradition of student athletes that excel not just on the court but also in the classroom and our community. For the 21-22 season your Orediggers boasted an overall team GPA of 3.43 with 11 Academic All-Conference honors, the leader in the conference.
Our student athletes are also leaders in the community volunteering for events and organizations like Dress a Child, Relay for Life, Walk to School Day, and many more.
This year’s team will be led by first-year head coach Jeff Graham who took over the reins in August. Before his arrival to Butte, Graham built a powerhouse program at Belt High School accumulating a 358-42 overall record that includes six state championships. In 15 seasons, Graham was named the Montana Coaches Association Coach of the Year six times in girl's basketball.
The Frontier Conference released the 2022-23 Women's Basketball Preseason Coaches Poll with the Orediggers picked to finish fifth in the league standings this year with Tavia Rooney and Dani Urick named Preseason All-Conference.
