Support Montana Tech Men's Basketball

Over the past six seasons, no Frontier Conference program has won more games or conference championships than the Montana Tech Men’s Basketball team. Now YOUR program needs your help as we compete in our 4th straight National Tournament, beginning this week in California.

With your help we have had transformational experiences and made lifelong memories for our players, peer students, alumni, and Oredigger fans. But make no mistake, we are far from our ceiling!

Our goal remains to take this incredible program to higher heights. YOUR Orediggers have won four straight conference tournament crowns. This is the first time in Frontier Conference history a men’s basketball program has won four straight. An incredible accomplishment!

This past season marked the first time in history a Frontier Conference team has won four regular season and four tournament titles. The Orediggers completed the regular season on a 4-game win streak finishing 24-6 overall and a 10-5 conference record.

YOUR Orediggers have been in the Top 25 for the last 17 polls, the fifth-longest active streak in the NAIA, making the Orediggers the only remaining Frontier Conference team in the poll. 

YOUR Orediggers will compete in the NAIA National Tournament for the fourth year in a row this Friday at 6:00 pm MST vs a very tough Southern Oregon University. We NEED your help!

Even as we compete in the National Tournament, recruitment of high-achieving student-athletes is on-going and key to our success. We need your help to continue to be the top choice for the best basketball players in Montana and in the region. Here are a few examples of the incredible players and coaches we have recruited, developed, and retained at Montana Tech: 

• Hayden Diekhans (Geraldine, MT) 2024-25 Frontier Conference Player of the Year, and Frontier Conference Defensive Player of the Year
• Keeley Bake (Fairfield, MT) 2024-25 Frontier Conference 1st Team all-Conference
• Ifeanyi Okeke (Rancho Cucamanga, CA) 2024-25 Frontier Conference 1st Team all-defense and 2nd Team all-Conference
• Brayden Koch (Helena, MT) 2022 Montana Gatorade Player of the Year
• Adam Hiatt Head Coach of the Year ’24-’25 – Third straight Coach of the Year honor

With YOUR help, we will continue to recruit and support high-character student-athletes who compete at a championship level.

Also of note, our ability to attract quality non-conference opponents to Butte for early season tournaments has been instrumental in the development of our men’s basketball program. The selection process for the National Tournament is largely contingent on analytics, such as Ratings Power Index and Strength of Schedule. We need to play a rigorous non-conference schedule to prepare our team for the Frontier Conference season, improve our post-season seeding, and continue to play in the National Tournament. 

With YOUR help we were able to beat enough quality teams in the non-conference to prepare us for Frontier Conference play, and ultimately, help us compete at the national level.
