Since the start of this decade, no Frontier Conference program has won more games or conference championships than the Montana Tech Men’s Basketball team. In fact, your Orediggers have the 5th highest winning percentage in the entire country. With your help we have had a sustained run of excellence. But make no mistake, we are far from our ceiling!

Our goal remains to take this incredible program to higher heights. YOUR Orediggers have won four straight conference tournament crowns. This is the first time in Frontier Conference history a men’s basketball program has won four straight championships. An incredible accomplishment!

This past season marked the first time in history a Frontier Conference team has won four regular season and four tournament titles. The Orediggers completed the regular season on a 4-game win streak finishing 24-6 overall and a 10-5 conference record.

YOUR Orediggers have been in the Top 25 for the last 18 polls, the fifth-longest active streak in the NAIA, rising to as high as #5 in the country a season ago. 

YOUR program needs your help as we compete for our 5th straight conference championship in a much more challenging, expanded conference. We absolutely NEED your help!

The recruitment of high-achieving student-athletes is key to our program competing in four consecutive National Tournaments. We need your help to continue to be the top choice for the best basketball players in Montana and in the region. • Hayden Diekhans (Geraldine, MT) 2024-25 Frontier Conference Player of the Year, and Frontier Conference Defensive Player of the Year
• Rhett Reynolds (Shelby, MT) University of Montana transfer, 3x 1^st Team all-State
• Asher Williams (Bonners Ferry, ID) 3x Idaho 4A POY, 2000-point scorer, 2x State Champion
• Brayden Koch (Helena, MT) 2022 Montana Gatorade Player of the Year, State Champion
• Adam Hiatt Head Coach of the Year ’24-’25 – Third straight Coach of the Year honor

With YOUR help, we will continue to recruit and support high-character student-athletes who compete at a championship level.

Our ability to attract quality non-conference opponents to Butte for early season tournaments has been instrumental in the development of our men’s basketball program. The selection process for the National Tournament is largely contingent on analytics, such as RPI and Strength of Schedule. We need to play a rigorous non-conference schedule to prepare our team for the Frontier Conference season, improve our post-season seeding, and continue to play in the National Tournament. Most importantly, with the conference doubling in size, with many new challenges awaiting, we need your help to put our players in position to be successful on these difficult road trips.

• With YOUR help we will be able to compete against enough quality teams in the non-conference to prepare us for Frontier Conference play, and ultimately, help us compete at the national level.
• With YOUR help we will be able to travel to North Dakota, South Dakota, and Nebraska to compete against new conference opponents.
