The Montana Tech NASA Robotic Mining Club competes annually at the NASA Robotic Mining Competition at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The goal of our team is to design, build and compete against other universities. The goal of the competition is to move as much simulated Martian surface material from one end of the course to the other using the robot designed. Students in our club do the bulk of the work.
In May, we will be taking 10-15 students to Florida for the week-long competition. The funds will be used for the travel, housing, and related expenses for the trip.
The trip is a pivotal moment for many students as they solidify the plans for college and following career. The student experience team-building, work under time constraints, gracious professionalism, and a significant amount of fun.
