The Rae Farrell Memorial Scholarship
It is an exciting time for the Nursing Department at Montana Tech. We are one of only two public universities in the state to offer a 120-credit pre-licensure option and we offer a 48-credit post-licensure option for currently licensed registered nurses. Our instructors have real-world nursing experience and students are able to learn in not only the classroom, but also state–of-the-art simulation labs and clinical settings. In fact, we are in the planning stages of a new Nursing Simulation Center on campus.
At Montana Tech, we have a passion for nursing and are proud to prepare tomorrow’s healers today. Nursing now boasts one of the largest enrollments on campus with over 200 students. We are growing and as we do, so does the need for dedicated nursing scholarships to support our students, and that is why we are asking you to give today to the Rae Farrell Memorial Scholarship.
In March of 2016, the Nursing Department suddenly and tragically lost one of our own. Along with being a certified nurse midwife, Rae Farrell was a beloved associate professor in the Nursing department at Montana Tech. She loved being a nurse, she loved learning and she loved taking what she learned and passing that to new generations of nurses.
We feel the best way to honor the passion Rae had for Nursing is to carry it on. The Rae Farrell Memorial Scholarship allows us to do that, by awarding a scholarship each year to a Montana Tech Nursing student. Offering a helping hand to the students that need it, just like she always did.
In 2017 we were able to endow the Rae Farrell Memorial Scholarship; this means it will be a permanent testament to her legacy. Now our goal is to grow that endowment so that each year we are able to help more students.
If you share this vision for the future of the Nursing Department at Montana Tech, please consider making a gift today. We appreciate your support and invite you to help advance future generations of healers here at Montana Tech.
Thank you for investing in Montana Tech Nursing, and please help us spread the word! Share this project on social media, by email and tell your friends!
