BUTTE, Mont. – The Montana Tech women's basketball team pulled off the upset against No. 17 Lewis-Clark State 72-68. The Orediggers (13-14, 3-13) snapped a six-game losing streak with a scrappy second half effort. Montana Tech trailed 34-28 going into halftime, but outscored Lewis-Clark in the final two periods. Tech came alive in the third taking a 49-46 lead into the final frame. The Warriors tied the score at 68 with 48 second to play, but the Orediggers hit 4 of 6 free throw attempts down the stretch. The Orediggers shot 46.3 percent in the second half and hit 4 of 7 from beyond the arc. The Orediggers outrebounded the Warriors 35-29. Tech shot 82.4 percent from the free throw line in the game. Mesa Williams netted 20 points hitting 7 of 13 from the field and 4 for 6 from three point range. Williams added 4 rebounds. Tjaden Pallister had 14 points on 6 of 11 shooting and grabbed 5 rebounds. Dani Urick hit double-figures with 12 points going 2 for 4 from three. Hailey Crawford had 8 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists in a solid effort. Cali Moscrip and Peyton Souvenir had 14 points each for the Warriors. Montana Tech host their final two regular season games next week. The Orediggers start with Carroll College Thursday night.
