Support the African Students Association at Montana Tech
Our Story
The African Students Association (ASA) at Montana Technological University is a vibrant student organization dedicated to fostering inclusion, cultural exchange, and global understanding on our campus and within the Butte community.
We represent students from across Africa — and friends who share a passion for African culture — working together to create an environment where everyone can thrive academically, socially, and personally.
Our guiding theme, UBUNTU — “I Am Because We Are”, reflects our belief that our shared humanity binds us together and that community strength is built through unity, compassion, and mutual respect.
Our Mission and Vision
- Empower students of African descent and friends of Africa to become advocates for cultural appreciation and global citizenship.
- Educate our campus and community about Africa’s diverse cultures, histories, and innovations.
- Build a strong sense of belonging that supports students as they navigate academic and social life at Montana Tech.
- Establish ASA as a pillar of unity, leadership, and cultural celebration — both on campus and throughout the Butte community.

About the Inaugural African Students Day 2025
